Pharmacy Benefit Dimensions Recognized With 5-Star Rating
BUFFALO, N.Y. – November 14, 2023 – For a third straight year, Pharmacy Benefit Dimensions has earned a 5-Star Rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Star Ratings system for its Medicare Employer Group Waiver Plan (EGWP) Prescription Drug Plan (PDP)*.
For the 2024 plan year, Pharmacy Benefit Dimensions is 1 of only 2 Prescription Drug Plans (PDPs) nationwide to receive a 5-Star rating. The average overall star rating for all prescription drug plans is 3.11 stars.
This is the fourth time in the last six years that Pharmacy Benefit Dimensions has earned a perfect 5-Star Rating from CMS, also achieving this distinction for the 2019, 2022 and 2023 plan years.
“We are proud of our historical Star Ratings performance, which we have achieved through diligent pursuit of excellence in quality and customer experiences,” said Lynne Reilly, President of Pharmacy Benefit Dimensions, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Independent Health. “We are honored to once again be recognized as one of the top EGWP Prescription Drug Plan administrators across the nation for our Medicare beneficiaries.”
Star ratings are released annually and reflect the experiences of patients enrolled in Medicare Advantage and Part D prescription drug plans. The system supports CMS' efforts to empower people to make health care decisions that are best for them. Plans are rated based on a 5-star system — 1 star meaning “poor” quality and 5 stars for “excellent” quality. The key components that Part D Prescription Drug Plans are measured on each year include:
- Drug Plan Customer Service
- Member Complaints and Changes in the Drug Plan’s Performance
- Member Experience with the Drug Plan
- Drug Safety and Accuracy of Drug Pricing
“Earning this top-level distinction from CMS is a testament to the hard work of our team and their dedication to all of our beneficiaries,” Reilly said. “We are passionate about our vision to provide customizable benefits and top-notch customer service, both now and in the future.”
